Asha turns 2

We had a great day celebrating Asha's 2nd birthday. Fun in the park with our church playgroup friends and a ladybug cake, enjoying Grandma and Poppa's present (unicorn dress up costume) and eating more cake!

More pictures of the trip

We had a great time driving back from Niagara along the south shore of Lake Ontario. A highlight for the kids was a park and old-style carousel in Port Dalhousie. A little town along the way. Carousel rides still at 1920s prices - 5c per ride!

Next stop Lake Huron - a beautiful blue lake (less polluted than the others. We stayed at a B&B in a tiny little town that had great take away pizza (eaten in the garden of our place) and a protected forest with rare Oak Savannah habitat to wander through.

Just before crossing the border into the US, we stopped at a crazy little private museum. Lots of stuffed animals, gem stones and an amazing collection of butterflies. The odd dinosaur skeleton was a selling point too!
Then onto Ann Arbor to visit Greg's friends. We walked through the campus of the University of Michigan and played at their house. Lovely to see friends we've met in far away places in their own home environment.

Our trip to Ontario and Michigan

We had a great holiday recently, driving 2400km (round trip) though Ontario and into Michigan (USA). We visited friends, saw some of the great lakes, Niagara Falls and lots of parks! All in all, a fabulous time seeing some more of this beautiful country - which is really really big! HEre are a few highlights.
Toronto - we visited some of my friends (sadly brought the camera and forgot to tkae a picture. But otherwise, wandered around the city, and I (Stef) went up teh CN tower to see the city from a different perspective.

Niagara Falls - we stayed outside the town (thank goodness, its like a mini Las Vegas) but enjoyed seeing the spectacular waterfalls
