My little kitchen helpers

We have a great staircase built by our landlords (for their now older kids) for helping in the kitchen. Both kids love to climb up and contribute to dinner prep or washing up, or simply make their food on the floor.

Montmorency Waterfall

On our last day in Quebec city, we drove out to see the beautiful Montmorency waterfall. There is a lovely view from the suspension bridge over the falls all the way back to Quebec city across the St Lawrence river.

Aquarium

We had a great day at the Quebec Aquarium. Asha loved watching the large fish of the St Lawrence seaway and Claude enjoyed the walruses. They even had polar bears (who presumably can stay outside all winter long!)
 
 
 
  

Quebec City

We had a lovely, though a little rainy, weekend in Quebec City. The old town is very European: a walled city with a chateau, cathedral and city hall all along cobblestone streets. Beautifully situated on the St Lawrence river, we really enjoyed walking around and exploring the place.
 
 
 

Claude was very excited to ride on the funicular (a short train that goes up the wall to the old town) 

Omi and Opi come to visit

Hooray for visitors! We had a great 2 weeks with Greg's parents in town. Lots of local adventures, book reading, playing trains and a trip up to Quebec city. It was a fantastic time of connecting between grandparents and grandchildren (and a great break for me too!)
 
 
 
 

Camping in Mont Tremblant National Park

Ok, so it was really glamping (glamourous camping) but we had a great time. We arrived to an already set up tent, which had beds and a table inside and a gas stove and fridge outside. It was even heated, which helped for the single digit nights!
  
 
We went walking in the forest, toasted marshmallows on the fire, ate steaming porridge for breakfast and generally had a fabulous time. Claude loved sleeping in the tent and was very excited about having his very own headlamp!
