Asha turns 1

Its hard to believe it was a year ago that we rushed back from the Barneys weekend away in the national park to welcome the arrival of Asha, but here she is as a one year old. Walking for 2 months, with 4-6 teeth now, about 10 words and a penchant for bagels - she is a delight to our family and brings joy to many with her generous smiles.

In the tradition of making birthday cakes for our kids, here's Asha's first one - a fish, since she loves watching the fish at the biodome so much!

Flying high!

The highlight of the weekend for me was definitely a trip up in the float plane. We had magnificent views over the islands and a chance to fly the plane myself (under supervision of course).

A weekend in Vermont

We drove down to Lake Champlain with Elle to visit her godfather, Doug and his wife Dee. They live on one of the islands in the Lake and we had a fabulous weekend eating, talking, flying and sailing with them.
A magnificent day sailing on the lake. Claude loved captaining the ship

Time for painting

Having an extra pair of very creative hands led to much fun with paints!
Claude had a great time painting with fingers, brushes and rollers, Asha even had a go of pretend painting with a brush. Our masterpiece was the family tree, now proudly hanging in our dining room.

Elle comes to visit

We had a great week with Elle, who came all the way from Australia to visit us - hooray! We had lots of fun showing her around town, going to our favourite parks, taking in some museums and a fabulous trip down to Vermont for the weekend.
